A
long-time resident of Central Florida, Bob Rossi is an original pioneer of melodic
metal who has been writing, performing and recording for nearly two
decades.
Throughout his music career Bob
has recorded in countless studios and toured the world performing shows
along side acts such as Dio, Savatage, Skid Row, Jackyl, Dokken, Trivium,
Thin Lizzy, Ratt, Raven, Twisted Sister, UDO, Hammerfall, Firewind, TNT,
Overkill, and many more.
Bob is an
aggressive guitarist who has successfully melded a variety of different
techniques and formulated his own playing style. A style having nuances of
Michael Schenker, George Lynch and Yngwie Malmsteen combined with dual-guitar
influences from the likes of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Queensryche.
Often incorporating classic metal influences with modern metal styles to
create fresh, powerful hybrids.
At a young age Bob studied and performed
classical/symphonic music in New York and Tampa. He soon thereafter
became intrigued by British metal
music and endeavored into writing and performing original metal in the 80’s
throughout Florida. During this time he worked with a number of local
artists and recorded in many major studios including PARC Studios, Greg Rike
Studios, Morrisound Studios, Starke Lake Studios, Full Sail Productions,
Doug Peterson Productions and various smaller studios. Bob also worked
closely with a number of talented engineers and producers, including
engineering genius Dana Cornock (who has worked with numerous artists from
Judas Priest to the Backstreet Boys).
By the close of the
80’s Bob had become increasingly involved in various engineering and
production responsibilities and began working with Greg Rike Studios (Deep
Purple, Vince Neal, Molly Hatchet, Foghat) as primary studio technician
while also performing occasional engineering and session work.
In the early 90’s,
after plans to fill a vacancy in Crimson Glory dissolved when the group
decided to proceed as a single-guitar lineup, Bob moved on to co-found melodic
metal act Damien Black. The group went on to write, record and perform
around Florida through the mid 90’s. The band’s independent release
“Black Reign” was well received in the United States and overseas, often
described as a powerful cross between Queensryche and Judas Priest.
At the turn of the
century, Bob Rossi joined up with metal vocal icon
Rob Rock (Impellitteri, Driver). Bob’s primary focus now consists of performing, recording
and songwriting for Rob Rock and other affiliated projects. The band has toured
Japan, Europe, Puerto Rico and the U.S., headlining and opening for other
national acts. For more information visit
